Krista Waring

Treasurer of EMAS Canada: Krista Waring was born in Winnipeg, raised in Thunder Bay and returned to Winnipeg to study at University of Manitoba (BA Sociology & Applied Math). Except for four years in Africa – Nairobi, Kenya (1988-90) and Lusaka, Zambia (1993-95) – Krista has since lived in Winnipeg.

In addition to serving on the EMAS Canada Board, Krista is a Co-Team Leader of the EMAS project ‘Hand in Hand with Haiti’.  Krista is the Treasurer for the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC), the Founder and Race Director for ‘RUN 4 Your Cause’ and the President of the Manitoba Runners’ Association (MRA).

Krista is married to Pierre Plourde and mum to Daniel and Nadine. The family worships at saint benedict’s table, a mission of the Anglican Diocese of Rupert’s Land.
