The long wait is over.
Most travel restrictions have been lifted.
Teams, once again, prepare to travel in November and December of 2022; and January, February, March, and June of 2023. Once again, we will see and work alongside our overseas partners.
The pandemic induced separation was frustrating. We kept connected with our overseas partners through prayer, letters, video calls, and whatever resources we could send. Yet these were no substitute for being face-to-face, working side by side with people we have come to treasure.
Time flies, October 2020 when we felt hemmed in. but not confined seems so long ago. It was the height of the pandemic lockdowns; we sought non-traditional ways to serve. I was afraid that donors and volunteers would leave, and some did; it was crucial to keep the home fires burning. So many of you responded with overwhelming generosity, a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
God supplies and we have the resources to press on with our projects.
The seemingly interminable wait is over; moreover, we are at the cusp of our 75th anniversary.
God’s unchanging faithfulness has seen us this far, Rev. Isaac Watts paraphrased the prayer of Moses in his famous hymn: “O God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast, and our eternal home.”
It’s my conviction that God’s eternal plan cannot be altered, and if we are a people dedicated to the gospel, He will not fail us. A thousand ages to Him are like an evening gone, but His favour is on us, and He will bless our work in our lifespan.
We have a mission to accomplish, Jesus Christ will back us up, Moses set an example for us.
This year-end comes with bittersweet emotions. Sadly, some of our loved ones have died, one team is in mourning as I write this blog even as others are eagerly looking ahead to missions in the winter of 2022/23.
Pray for the consolation of members of China South; for we do not mourn without hope. Remember that our God is from everlasting to everlasting.
