There is a café/florist, called Joy Café and Flora run by and for young adults who on account of health needs have been disadvantaged and would find it extremely difficult to have gainful employment. The café offers more than beverages and flowers, it is a place where youth are finding opportunity to gain experience in life skills while at the same time providing financial support for themselves and their families. We believe many young people will come to this café for on-the-job training, for community; it is a place for them to hang out. From a people once without hope due to illness, we hear news of joy and lofty expectations for a brighter future.

Certain prisoners were not expecting dental services this past fall; but a last-minute invitation by local leaders to a medical mission team turned into free relief for and service to an otherwise neglected group of people. On another continent a community center is harnessing solar energy to power a school that feeds and give education to many children in whose country internecine conflict has paralyzed all government institutions, there is light in darkness, because this is one location that truly has reliable lighting and food. Elsewhere, new shower heads in a hospital are spraying warm water from solar heaters where previously women bathed from buckets of chilly water to a conserve a limited resource.

EMAS teams are using your donations to deliver the pleasure of freshly brewed coffee and fragrant flowers, freedom from pain, and the luxury of warm showers, and nutritious meals for children. Christmas celebrates the coming of “good news of great joy.” That was God taking on human form and coming to be with us. All over the world majestic cathedrals and magnificently decorated churches will soon fill with people worshiping and celebrating IMMANUEL.

King Solomon said, if heaven’s heaven cannot contain God how much less our grand temples made by human hands, yet paradoxically (or if you prefer prophetically) Solomon invited God to come to His “resting place ” where all people could reach Him with just about every need including their toothaches. See the prayer list Solomon suggests in 2 Chronicles 6. Jesus said that He was among us as one who serves, and neither in Jerusalem nor on some holy mountain. It is acts of service funded by you and done by our teams, on behalf of Jesus, that makes new worshipers everywhere with boundless joy from Zimbabwe, to Haiti, and Mongolia, and many places in between.

I hope you will read our next edition of EMASSARY and give generously so we can bring “good news of great joy” to many.
