Announcing Rev. Dr. Harding Ng as our 75th Anniversary celebration keynote speaker on April 29th, 2023.
Harding was a young University of Toronto graduate and freshly-minted medical doctor practicing Family Medicine when Dr. Robert Stephens, then EMAS Executive Director in the late 80s, showed up in 1989 at his doorsteps to “summon” him to go to a mission trip to China!
Although stunned and taken aback, this encounter started Harding on a journey of repeat short-term missions trips throughout his career. First these were in medical missions and later in pastoral training trips after he heeded God’s call to change his career mid-course after 15 years of medical practice, into full-time pastoral ministry.
That change has taken Harding to ministering in several countries: many provinces and cities in Mainland China; South-East Asia countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand; Caribbean and Latin American countries like Jamaica, Venezuela, Panama, Brazil; gospel camps and bible study training in U.K. and Germany, etc. After recent retirement, his latest projects include assisting the development of Mongolian and Ugandan churches.
Harding’s training trips as a discipleship team approach, encompass medical & community development work, evangelism & discipleship; biblical & pastoral training, all enhancing toward a holistic approach in the gospel presentation.
Besides being the former Senior Pastor of Toronto Christian Community Church for 25 years, which he retired in 2019, he was also the Founder of 105 Gibson Centre, a cross-cultural ministry centre with social services for gospel outreach to the Markham Community where TCCC is situated. He is also currently on the board of directors of OMF (GVC Global Vision Council) and PI Canada (Partners Intl. Canada)
Harding is married to Lok-ping for 45 years with 2 grown children Clarence & Melodie and 4 grandchildren.
We look forward to a rich and encouraging time with Rev. Dr. Ng at the EMAS Canada 7th Anniversary in Toronto on April 29th, 2023.
